Security Systems: Access Control, Card Readers & Intruder Detection

Card readers, magnetic locks (mag locks), push-to-exit buttons, request-to-exit (RTE/REX) devices, door contacts, PIR motion detectors, break-glass units and everything else that makes up a door — Lenel recommended, integrated with your cabling and network from day one.

We design, install and configure complete access control and intruder detection systems: card and fob readers, magnetic locks and electric strikes, push-to-exit buttons, request-to-exit (RTE/REX) devices, door contacts, PIR motion sensors, break-glass call points, and the controllers and cabling that tie them all together.

Lenel is the access control platform we recommend most, for its reliability and scalability across a single door or a whole portfolio of sites. We work across most major platforms — including Came BPT for door entry and intercom systems — and we're not tied to one; we also work with whatever's already in place on your site, and will advise on the best fit at survey stage.

Because access control lives on the same cabling infrastructure as your data network, we plan door and sensor cabling alongside your structured cabling install — reducing the number of contractors on site and making sure containment and power are right first time.

Door hardware has to work as a system, not a pile of parts — a mag lock needs a PSU to run and, on most fire doors, a request-to-exit device or push-to-exit button to release it safely; a card reader needs a controller to talk to. We plan every door as a whole, so nothing gets fitted that can't actually function once the door's closed.

Systems are commissioned and tested door-by-door and zone-by-zone before handover, with a clear record of what's installed where.

What's included

  • Magnetic locks (mag locks) and electric strikes, with correctly sized PSUs
  • Push-to-exit buttons and request-to-exit (RTE/REX) devices
  • Door auto-closers
  • Backup batteries for PSUs, so doors keep working through a power cut
  • Door controllers / access control panels
  • Door contact and PIR sensor fitting
  • Break-glass call point installation
  • System cabling integrated with structured cabling
  • Door-by-door commissioning and testing
  • Handover documentation and system walkthrough

FAQs

Do you only work with Lenel, or other access control platforms too?

We recommend Lenel and use it most often, but we work across most major platforms — including Came BPT — and aren't tied to any one of them or an official partner of any. Tell us what you have (or want) and we'll advise on the best fit.

I want a mag lock on a door — what else will I need?

Mag locks need a dedicated PSU to hold and release, and on most fire escape doors a request-to-exit device or push-to-exit button so people can always get out. We'll confirm exactly what's needed for your door during the survey.

Can you integrate access control with our existing CCTV or cabling?

Yes — we plan access control cabling alongside existing or new structured cabling and can integrate with existing CCTV and access platforms where compatible.

Do you install both card readers and PIR/door contact intruder detection?

Yes, we install and commission both access control (readers, controllers, locks) and intruder detection (PIRs, door contacts, break-glass) as one system or separately.

Is the system tested before handover?

Every door and zone is tested individually before we hand the system over, with documentation covering what's installed and how it's configured.
